VAT, e-invoicing and data residency in the UAE

The UAE applies 5% VAT and is introducing mandatory e-invoicing in phases from 2026. We implement Zoho Books with e-invoicing for FTA requirements. The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45/2021) governs personal data, and Microsoft and AWS both run cloud regions inside the UAE, so data can stay in-country where needed.

Pricing in UAE dirhams (AED)

Google Workspace Business Starter costs AED 25.76, Business Standard AED 51.52 and Business Plus AED 80.96 per user per month, billed annually (annual upfront commitment). Microsoft 365 Business Basic costs AED 25.76 per user per month, billed annually. Zoho Books starts at AED 60 per organization per month, billed annually. Prices as of October 2026, excluding 5% VAT.

Is Zoho Books ready for UAE e-invoicing?

Zoho Books supports UAE VAT and e-invoicing. We set it up, migrate your data from Tally, QuickBooks or Excel, and train your finance team.

Can our data stay in the UAE?

Yes. Microsoft 365 and Azure, and AWS, have UAE data centres. We advise which services keep data in-country and configure them accordingly.

Do you invoice in AED?

Yes. UAE customers are quoted and invoiced in AED by Gulf Infotech FZCO, with 5% VAT shown separately.
